The following Sponsors are confirmed for the 2022 competition

Youngs Sofina Sponsor

Young’s Seafood Limited is proud to be associated with the Grimsby Institute and to have supported the National Seafood Chef of the Year competition from the very beginning. 2022 marks the 25th year of the competition and we are delighted to be the headline sponsor for what promises to be the best competition yet.

Based in Grimbsy, we’re the UK’s leading fish and seafood business, inspiring consumers to love fish for over 200 years. Founded by Elizabeth Young in 1805, Young’s has a rich history and as the Masters of Fish it’s important for us to support and recognise the next generation of seafood chefs so together we can continue to inspire our nation to enjoy the great taste of fish.

We continue to respect the oceans and understand the need to protect their rich diversity for future generations. That’s also why we developed our Fish for Life approach, which underpins the sustainability promise we make with our Young’s brand.

Young’s is part of Sofina Foods Inc

We understand the value of strong and mutually-beneficial partnerships with those sharing the goal of positively shaping hospitality and catering educations to the advantage of everyone.

Representing colleges, universities and schools, our members account for a significant amount of expenditure and purchases across food, beverages, catering equipment, training materials and service agreements.

Oak Ridge Sponsorship

Oak Ridge Hotels

Oak Ridge Hotels’ director Ashley Lidgard is one of the founding creators of the competition, and ever since he has supported the event by hosting finalists within one of his award winning hotels.

As part of the prize when awarded, a place at the finals includes a nights stay where the gala dinner will be held. Oak Ridge Hotels currently has two hotels in its portfolio, covering North Lincolnshire and the Lincolnshire Wolds. The Ashbourne is set in the pretty village of North Killingholme, and the Brackenborough is on the outskirts of the Georgian market town of Louth. Both properties embrace stylish boutique-hotel living, yet scratch the surface, and you’ll find this backed up with freshly prepared, quality food and friendly, attentive staff.

A Passion to Inspire

founded by Murray Chapman, is a non-profit making, voluntary initiative, initially developed to bring education and industry closer together – to help and support’ the future of tomorrow today’. The initial format was a competition… but with a fun and supportive element, to nurture, encourage and support students, and give them belief in, and a passion for, their chosen career.

We are passionate about helping more people enjoy sustainable South West seafood in our restaurants and at home. Every day our expert team select the best fish as it is landed in Brixham and prepare and portion it at the quay, just metres from where the boats come in. We then pack it and send it to our nine coastal restaurants, or to your door with Seafood at Home.
