Seafish was founded in 1981 by an Act of Parliament and is the public body that supports all sectors of the £10bn UK seafood industry for a profitable, sustainable and socially responsible future. It is the only pan-industry body offering services to all parts of the seafood industry, including catching and aquaculture, processors, importers, exporters, and distributors of seafood, and restaurants and retailers.
Seafish is funded by a levy on the first sale of seafood landed and imported in the UK. It aims to support and improve the environmental sustainability, efficiency and cost-effectiveness of the industry, as well as promoting sustainably-sourced seafood.
Its vision is of a thriving seafood industry and its mission is ‘Seafood is the way forward.’

Russums is a well-established family business, independently owned and run by the Russum family. Over the last 180 years, the business has evolved from a retailer of general hardware to local manufacturing industries to a modern multi-channel supplier of catering clothing and equipment.
The main focus of the business is supplying chefs and hospitality workers with the clothing and tools needed for their everyday work. Innovative food production equipment is complimented by Russums own range of food presentation tableware offering affordable and creative serving solutions.
Oak Ridge Hotels
Oak Ridge Hotels’ director Ashley Lidgard is one of the founding creators of the competition, and ever since he has supported the event by hosting finalists within one of his award winning hotels.
As part of the prize when awarded, a place at the finals includes a nights stay where the gala dinner will be held. Oak Ridge Hotels currently has two hotels in its portfolio, covering North Lincolnshire and the Lincolnshire Wolds. The Ashbourne is set in the pretty village of North Killingholme, and the Brackenborough is on the outskirts of the Georgian market town of Louth.
