This course is a practical Skills Bootcamp preparing learners for skilled roles in seafood processing, with strong emphasis on food safety and HACCP principles. Learners will gain hands-on knife skills combined with essential food safety knowledge, ready for roles in the seafood processing industry.
- Food safety, personal hygiene, and cross-contamination prevention
- Safe storage, handling, and cleaning procedures
- Legal responsibilities and HACCP introduction
- Fish-specific hazards and designing HACCP plans
- Knife handling, sharpening, and safety
- Anatomy and filleting techniques for round (e.g., cod) and flat fish (e.g., plaice)
